As the new Art Gallery of NSW building opens, we’re proud to have helped bring Māori artist Lisa Reihanna’s GROUNDLOOP to life with real-time syncronised audio.
Māori artist Lisa Reihanna’s captivating GROUNDLOOP is one of the first pieces you’ll see entering the just-opened new building of the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
The monumental moving-image artwork overlooks the central atrium, inviting visitors to enter into an immersive First Nations imagining of the future.
Engaging the senses through immersive storytelling in public spaces is no small feat. But we worked closely with the artist and Gallery team to find a way to make it happen.
Together we developed an accessible audio sync solution so that visitors can experience the artwork’s breathtaking soundtrack intimately from their own devices.
This is just one of the artist collaborations we’ve been lucky to engage in over the past few years.
The collaboration is a great example of how collectively we can use technology to reimagine how audiences engage with art – in the gallery and beyond.
