We’re very excited to announce that Screen Australia has greenlit development funding for our upcoming story-driven adventure game Sundown as part of their Games: Expansion Pack.
At the beginning of this year, we embarked on a more dedicated push to develop our own IP.
Sundown is the first of these experiences to come to fruition, thanks to funding from Screen Australia announced this week. In the game you’ll play as Mary, a 90-something year old would-be astronaut now living with dementia, and embark on a last-ditch effort to finally get to space – and find yourself.
It’s exciting – and perhaps a bit terrifying – to be using our skills to make this game, which holds a special place in our hearts as our very first independent title.
Sundown is just one of over 20 games being funded by Screen Australia this year. We’re in good company, with games spanning a wide range of genres and platforms – including two First Nations game studios.
We are so proud of the level of talent in the games industry in Australia, and feel the best is yet to come for our games developers both locally and on the international stage.
This is a new adventure for us, and we can’t wait to take you all along on the journey of bringing this game – and the other IP we’ve been tinkering away on – to life.
